Objectives

Short-term objectives

  1. To develop teachers’ capacity to adopt self-directed learning as a strategy to promote STEAM education

  2. To support schools to build capacity and develop whole-school curriculum with good practices in implementing STEAM education

Long-term objectives

The supports to schools and teachers ultimately aim at helping students to:

  1. Strengthen student’s ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills across different subject disciplines to unleash their innovation and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit;

  2. Empower students to engage effectively in SDL despite their diversity

  3. Improve students’ motivation for learning and to enable them to transfer skills and knowledge to new situation

  4. To acquire related knowledge and skills to engage themselves effectively in STEAM learning activities through SDL

  5. Nurture students’ creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills

  6. Foster students’ innovation and entrepreneurial spirit

Co-planning meetings with teachers-in-charge to build and execute school-based STEAM curriculum

Workshops at the University of Hong Kong and online sharing equips teachers with knowledge on STEAM education and SDL

Teacher training workshops

Interflow activities

We would share good experience and practices among schools. For example, sharing sessions, open classes, learning cluster meetings and exhibitions, etc.
